Eartheasy is showing a commitment to the environment and some of the world’s most vulnerable communities by supporting nonprofit Trees for the Future (TREES) and their plans to plant more than 50 million trees with farmers across sub-Saharan Africa this year, helping the organization reach over 250 million trees planted in total through its history.

In addition to planting one tree for every purchase all year round, Eartheasy is committing to tripling donations for purchases made on Arbor Day (April 30, 2021).

“Support from companies like Eartheasy is crucial in environmental restoration and protection,” says Trees for the Future Executive Director John Leary. “Thanks to our brand partners, we’re reaching more farmers and planting more trees this year than ever before.”

TREES trains farmers in agroforestry, teaching them to grow sustainable farming systems called Forest Gardens. The average one-acre Forest Garden is home to more than 4,000 trees and sequesters about 63 metric tons of carbon over 20 years. Forest Gardens restore the soil and natural biodiversity of the land while providing food and income opportunities to the farming family.

“It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the state of our planet and the need for urgent action,” says Trees for the Future Director of Programs Brandy Lellou. “But the good news is that Trees for the Future has a solution to some of our most pressing challenges and we have brand partners like Eartheasy dedicated to making lasting change possible.”

Planting more trees, changing more lives

Last year Eartheasy’s partnership with Trees for the Future led to the planting of more than 23,000 trees. This year the company aims to surpass 30,000.

“We believe wholeheartedly in supporting positive action for the planet while providing better lives for the people who live here,” says Eartheasy CEO Ben Seaman. “This Trees for the Future campaign does both, restoring nature’s balance while educating and training farmers for the long term.”

With support from business partners like Eartheasy as well as individual donors and institutional funders, to date Trees for the Future has planted more than 211 million trees around the globe over the past 30 years. The 50 million trees being planted this year are a new record for the organization. The trees will be planted at different times throughout the year based on regional seasons and planting schedules. Visit trees.org/map for a closer look at where the trees are planted.

Eartheasy’s mission is to help people improve their quality of life by offering information and products for sustainable living. At Eartheasy, we believe we can enrich our lives and ensure a healthy future while also reducing our impact on the environment.
